Bradford High School’s football team will host a Region 2-2A quarterfinal game against the Avon Park Red Devils on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m.
The Tornadoes (9-1) found out their opponent and seeding during the Florida High School Athletic Association’s bracket-release show on Nov. 6. Bradford is the number one seed in Region 2, while Avon Park (6-4) is the eighth seed. Both teams were champions of their respective districts.
If the Tornadoes defeat the Red Devils, they will host a Friday, Nov. 21, semifinal game between fourth seed The Villages (9-1) or fifth seed Tampa Berkeley Prep (4-4), who’ll play each other in the quarterfinals.
The region’s other quarterfinal matchups pit second seed Clearwater Calvary Christian (7-3) against seventh seed Alachua Santa Fe (7-3) and third seed Cocoa (5-4) against sixth seed Newberry (5-5).
Matchups in the other three regions in Class 2A are as follows.
—Region 1: top seed Jacksonville Bolles (9-1) vs. eighth seed DeFuniak Springs Walton (4-6); second seed Pensacola Catholic (9-1) vs. seventh seed Panama City Bozeman (6-4); third seed Santa Rosa Beach South Walton (7-3) vs. sixth seed Freeport (5-4); fourth seed Tallahassee Florida High (4-6) vs. fifth seed Baldwin (7-3).
—Region 3: top seed Cardinal Mooney (9-1) vs. eighth seed Coconut Creek North Broward Prep (5-5); second seed St. Petersburg Lakewood (9-1) vs. seventh seed Boynton Beach Somerset Academy-Canyons (5-5); third seed Belle Glade Glades Central (9-1) vs. sixth seed West Palm Beach King’s Academy (5-5); fourth seed Fort Lauderdale Calvary Christian vs. fifth seed Fort Myers Bishop Verot (4-6).
—Region 4: top seed Miami Immaculata La Salle (10-0) vs. eighth seed Miami Somerset Academy (7-3); second seed Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons (7-3) vs. seventh seed Miami Monsignor Pace (4-6); third seed Miami Killian (7-2) vs. sixth seed Miami Carol City (6-4); fourth seed Miami Gulliver Prep (6-3) vs. fifth seed Miami Ransom Everglades (6-4).
