Union County High School dropped its second straight game, losing 57-50 to host Fort White in a Jan. 8 boys basketball game.
The Tigers (7-3) got 15 points from Garrison Smith and 12 from Montrell Woods. Also scoring were Tyrese Chandler with eight points, R.J. Odom with seven points, Adrian Manns with four points and Cadenz Merriex and Jaylen Pierre with two points each.
Pierre added eight assists and three steals, while Manns grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked five shots.
Union’s last game of 2025 was a 63-35 win at Lafayette on Dec. 22. Chandler led three players in double-digit scoring with 13 points, while Smith and Woods had 12 and 10 points, respectively. The Tigers also got six points each from Manns, Odom and Pierre, three from Dareell Merriex, two each from Andersen-Davis, Erick Lasseter and Parker Parrish and one from Cadenz Merriex.
Manns had seven rebounds and eight blocked shots, while Pierre had six assists and three steals. Andersen-Davis also had three steals, while Woods and Dareell Merriex led the team with four each.
The Tigers returned to action after the holiday break with a 55-46 win at Clay on Jan. 5, but then dropped a 47-46 game to visiting Suwannee on Jan. 6.
Chandler led Union in scoring against Suwanee with 10 points, while Manns and Pierre had nine and eight, respectively. The Tigers also got six points from Andersen-Davis, five from Odom and four each from Smith and Woods.
Manns added 10 rebounds and five blocked shots to his totals against Suwanee. Woods had eight rebounds, while Andersen-Davis blocked three shots.
Odom and Pierre dished out four and three, assists, respectively.
The Tigers travel to play Hilliard on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 7:30 p.m. and will host Baker County on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 7:30 p.m. Union hosts Clay on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 7:30 p.m.
