The Lake Region Prosperity Partners hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 9 to formally welcome Whisk Cafe to the Keystone Heights business community.
Members of the Clay Chamber group and city officials attended the ceremony at Whisk’s 190 South Lawrence Boulevard location.
The eatery opened its doors in February 2025. After several months navigating the challenges of launching a new business and becoming established in the community, the owners felt it was the right time to mark the milestone with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Owned by husband-and-wife team Ronald Todd and Danny Yangtodd, Whisk Cafe brings a menu focused on home-cooked, healthy options, along with a variety of desserts and ice cream. The couple said they chose Keystone Heights intentionally, seeing an opportunity to serve local families with convenient, quality meals.
“I’ve been a chef my whole life. I’ve worked for companies, opened restaurants with partners, and owned our own restaurant before,” said Todd. “We made mistakes and learned lessons along the way, so when we got this opportunity, we decided to go back to the fundamentals.”

Todd previously worked as a chef at Butler Hospital and Butler University in Indianapolis, experiences he said helped shape the café’s approach to consistency and fresh preparation.
Yangtodd emphasized the café’s focus on convenience for busy families.
“We wanted to offer grab-and-go options for families,” Yangtodd said. “From personal experience, when I come home, pick up my son, and still have to think about cooking, it can be a lot. This makes it easier.”
The café prides itself on preparing all menu items in-house. According to the owners, items such as pastries, pies, parfaits, egg rolls, and chicken tenders are made fresh daily.
“Everything you see here is made in-house,” Todd said. “Our chicken tenders are hand-battered using fresh chicken—we don’t serve frozen products. That freshness is why customers tell us we have some of the best tenders they’ve ever had. We also offer boba teas and ice cream.”
Whisk Cafe is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
With its emphasis on fresh, made-from-scratch food and family-friendly convenience, Whisk Cafe aims to become a staple dining destination for residents and visitors in Keystone Heights.
