Travis Henry Aldridge, 41, of Starke’s Old Lawtey Road, was sentenced to one year and seven days with the Department of Corrections after pleading to a battery that arose from an argument over who would watch the man’s children.
According to an October 12, 2025, arrest report, the victim and defendant, who have a child together, argued because both wanted to go out for the night and wanted the other to watch the children.
Deputy Benjamin Norsworthy wrote in the report that he viewed a video of the incident captured from a Ring camera inside the home.
“In the video, I observed both (the defendant and victim) engage in a verbal argument,” wrote Norsworthy in the report. “During the video, Travis is observed walking around the kitchen island towards (the victim). Travis then proceeds to strike (the victim), and then grabs her by the throat and shoves her towards the hallway, where he continues to strike her. In the video, I observed both (children) to be present in the same area.”
The defendant pleaded on January 14 to felony battery- repeat offender. His prior convictions include sale, manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, no valid driver’s license, fleeing or attempting to elude, driving with a suspended or revoked license, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal mischief, domestic battery by strangulation, and possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis.
