Keystone Heights Mayor Nina Rodenroth said state officials have budgeted dedicated turning lanes at South Lawrence Boulevard (State Road 21) and Walker Drive (State Road 100) for 2027. The mayor said around five street parking spaces in front of Keystone Gifts and Guns and Clyde’s Cozy Corner Cafe will be lost in the process.
Rodenroth added that FDOT officials are willing to change the design if the city council wishes, but any changes would likely push the project beyond 2027.
An exhibit provided by the mayor shows a dedicated left-turn lane, another solely for crossing Walker Drive, and a dedicated right-turn lane across what used to be the China Chef Restaurant.
