Lamonte’ Garcia Gamble, 20, of Jacksonville, was arrested by Bradford deputies on March 13 for attempted murder.

According to the affidavit prepared by Bradford County Sheriff’s Office Det. Hayley Flynn, the incident began in the early morning hours of March 2, when Lamonte Gamble was at a residence in the area of State Road 16 and Northwest County Road 233, where the defendant was seen holding a firearm.

The 18-year-old female victim told deputies that later that night, as she was pulling into Northwest 51st Avenue from State Road 16, she saw the rear driver’s side window of a vehicle roll down, a green laser pointed at her chest, and she fell to the ground when she heard gunshots. Two types of ammunition casings were recovered at the scene, one consistent with a 5th Generation Glock and the other with a Springfield XD.

The suspect vehicle fled northbound on 16 after the shooting. Sheriff’s office security cameras recorded the white Kia Forte returning to the area where a Nissan Altima was parked. A male matching Lamonte Gamble’s description got out of the Kia’s rear driver’s side door, walked around the vehicle, got into the Nissan’s driver’s seat, and drove away toward North Temple Ave. FLOCK cameras subsequently captured the Nissan at State Road 16 and State Road 21, near Camp Blanding, at 8:36 p.m.

The report states cameras and license plate readers documented the Kia and Nissan at various locations earlier in the day from devices stationed at Interstate 10 in Jacksonville, a Circle K store in Starke, and Bradford High School.

The allegations in the report are not proven, and the defendant is considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
