Starke-based attorney Dan Sikes, who is defending 39-year-old Roger Crews against obscene communications charges, defended his client against social media critics.
Crews was arrested by Bradford deputies on June 16 on an out-of-county warrant for two counts of attempting to solicit, lure, or entice a person believed to be a parent, legal guardian, or custodian of a child to consent to the participation of such child…in sexual conduct.
The warrant also lists two counts of using a two-way communications device to facilitate a felony.
The defendant remains in the St. Johns County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
In a telephone interview, Sikes questioned the motivation of some of Crews’s detractors.
“One of the things I have found in my life is some of the people that are the most judgmental and hypercritical of people accused of things, not always, but often have something to hide,” he said.
