“Our goal was to just bring seniors together,” Thomas said. “We wanted to bring them together to come out and just kind of connect with each other again.”
Thomas and co-founder Alicia Maxwell started the program in July 2024 with 22 people at their first gathering. Now in its second year, the group counted about 72 heads at a July 15 luncheon, with people traversing in and out all morning. The reach extends beyond the room: volunteers pack meals to go for homebound residents, and a maintenance crew delivers them to those who can’t make the trip.
