National GOP committee woman praises Union County Republicans

Kathleen King, Florida GOP National Committeewoman

Florida GOP National Committeewoman Kathleen King noted, during the local party’s fundraising dinner last night,  that Union County has backed the Republican presidential nominee in every cycle since 1984 and delivered more than 83 percent of its vote to Donald Trump in 2024. She urged the crowd to reproduce that margin for the governor’s race and other Republican contests in 2026, pointing to a slate of down-ballot incumbents the party wants to reelect and seats it aims to hold.

Much of King’s remarks focused on the economy. She said the May jobs report beat expectations and that the June consumer price index rose only slightly, which she described as the largest one-month slowdown in years. She credited Trump and congressional Republicans with easing grocery, gas and energy costs, and she promoted new tax-advantaged investment accounts for children, encouraging parents of citizens under 18 to sign up.
