Union County High School came up short in a Sept. 10 boys golf match against Madison County at The Country Club at Lake City, but the Tigers’ Ayden Tomlinson finished as the individual runner-up.
The Tigers had a team score of 204, which left them trailing the Cowboys by seven strokes.
Tomlinson made par on three holes in finishing with a score of 44. He trailed medalist Kadence Eastham by only two strokes.
Union’s Zeke Balkin-Gainey and Gavin Kuhn were fourth and fifth, respectively, with scores of 51 and 52. Kuhn made par on one hole.
The Tigers also had individuals place seventh, ninth and 10th: Hunter Thomassen, who had a score of 57, Brysen Tomlinson, who had a score of 62, and Jayce Sanders, who had a score of 63.
