KEYSTONE HEIGHTS— A Lake Region woman was arrested after Clay deputies said she and two other people carjacked a man’s truck.
Amber Marie Caudill, 29, was arrested by Clay deputies in Keystone Heights on Dec. 7 for the Nov. 4, 2021 offense of armed carjacking.
According to court papers, the victim agreed to give Caudill a ride to a State Road 21 convenience store. On the way, the defendant asked the victim to take a detour into the High Ridge Estates neighborhood.
Caudill then left the vehicle, claiming she was looking for a stolen camper. When Caudill did not return, the victim began searching for her. After the victim exited his truck to find the defendant, a man and a woman then approached the victim with knives, demanding that he back away from his truck.
Caudill, who was hiding nearby in the bushes, then jumped in the truck with the two accomplices and drove off.
Approximately one hour after the carjacking, Putnam deputies conducted a traffic stop on the truck and arrested the occupants.
