Keystone Heights High School will have an additional 10 weightlifters each competing in the Olympic and traditional events at Region 3-1A meet, while Union County and Keystone have six and three additional qualifiers, respectively.
The champions at the District 6 meet (see related post) automatically qualified for the region meet, which will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. at Callahan’s West Nassau High School.
At-large qualifiers were announced earlier this week after comparting totals from all of the districts in Class 1A.
Keystone’s Olympic district champions were Ashlyn Brown, Kaylee Park, Alyssa Sanford, Chloe Still and London Williams. They will be joined at the region meet by at-large qualifiers Tayler Buchanan, Xana Briley, Makenzi Brinson, Tatum Hall, Ava Herman, Natalie Layfield, Keira Miller, Kylie Scott, Morgan Wilson and Bella Woods.
The Indians’ at-large qualifiers in traditional are Briley, Brinson, Buchanan, Hall, Layfield, Sanford, Williams, Wilson and Woods. They will join district champions Brown, Herman, Park, Scott and Still.
Union, which competes in traditional only, had the following receive at-large berths: Allaya Blocker, Alexia Cyr, Emma Handley, Brooke Hunt, Courtney Manning and Kieren Seay.
The Tigers had two automatically qualify as district champs: Riley Gibson and Briena Haight.
Bradford’s Destiny Randolph was an automatic qualifier as a district champ. She’ll be joined at the region meet by at-large qualifiers Kolee LeMire, Rhylee Schaffer and Addison Thornton. All will compete in traditional, while Schaffer will also compete in Olympic.
