Bardier, Mitzel tie for 1st in KHHS boys golf win over BHS

Keystone Heights High School’s Nate Bardier and Ty Mitzel were co-medalists in the boys golf team’s win over host Bradford on Sept. 3.

The Indians had a team score of 169, which put them 21 strokes ahead of the Tornadoes.

Bardier, who made par on four holes, and Mitzel, who made par on five, each shot a 41. They finished one stroke ahead of Bradford’s Cody Spratlin, who made par on five holes.

Keystone’s Konner Kelly, who made par on three holes, placed fourth with a score of 43, while teammates Jacob Beach, Will Begue and Hunter Sheppard each shot a 44 to tie for fifth. Beach and Begue each made par on three holes, while Sheppard made par on two.

Bradford’s Avery Burgin and Steven Carter had scores of 48 and 49, respectively, to place eighth and ninth. Burgin made par on one hole, while Carter made par on four.

The Tornadoes’ Matthew Stafford also placed in the top 10, making par on three holes and finishing with a score of 51.

Tucker Griffis and Grayson Jennings shot 54 and 55, respectively, for Bradford. Jennings made par on one hole.
