Will Begue finished two strokes behind medalist Michael Susser of Orange Park in the Keystone Heights High School boys golf team’s win on Aug. 31 at Orange Park’s Eagle Harbor Golf Club.
The Indians had a team score of 183 to Orange Park’s 208.
Begue had a birdie and made par on two holes in shooting a 43.
Keystone’s Nate Bardier and Bryler Singletary placed third and fourth, respectively, with scores of 44 and 47. Bardier had a birdie and made par on three holes, while Singletary had two birdies and made par on two holes.
The Indians’ Jacob Beach finished in a tie for fifth with a score of 49. He made par on three holes.
Parker Pescara and Jackson McDaniel, who each made par on two holes, placed seventh and eighth, respectively, for Keystone with scores of 50 and 52.
On Aug. 24, the Indians lost a match to Middleburg at Orange Park’s Eagle Landing Golf Club. Keystone’s team score of 173 left the Indians trailing the Broncos by eight strokes.
Bardier finished two strokes behind medalist Logan Wahlstrom of Middleburg with a second-place score of 38. Bardier had a birdie and made par on five holes.
Keystone’s Luke Lewis, who made par on three holes, had a fifth-place score of 43, while Begue and Singletary, who each shot a 46, were part of a four-way tie for sixth. Begue made par on three holes.
Beach made par on one hole and finished in a tie for 10th with a score of 47.
McDaniel, who made par on one hole, shot a 51.
