BHS baseball team ends its shutout streak, but loses 13-3

Bradford High School’s baseball team broke a three-game scoreless streak, but still lost by double digits, with host Fort White defeating the Tornadoes 13-3 on March 30.

The Tornadoes, who were outscored by a total 41-0 in their previous three games, fell behind 7-0 to Fort White before scoring two in the third. Luke Stucky and Foster Smith hit back-to-back singles. Two outs later, Kevin Crawford walked before Carson Knight drove in two runs on a single.

Bradford’s Elijah Noonan scored a run in the fifth. He reached on an error and advanced on a Jonathan Brugh single and a ground out before scoring on a wild pitch.

Stucky was the Tornadoes’ only multi-hit batter, going 2 for 4.

The Tornadoes (0-9-1) travel to play Interlachen on Thursday, April 7, at 6 p.m. before returning home to play Branford on Friday, April 8, at 7 p.m. Bradford hosts Dixie County on Monday, April 11, at 7 p.m. and then hosts Ridgeview on Wednesday, April 13, at 7 p.m.
