BHS, BMS runners compete at Horse Park Invitational

Three Bradford High School runners finished in the top half of the field in the junior varsity girls race at the ninth annual Florida Horse Park Cross Country Invitational on Sept. 3 in Ocala.

Lindsey McCoy ran a time of 26:21 to finish 44th out of 149. Natalie Thomas and Alissa Reddish placed 55th and 56th, respectively, with times of 27:17 and 27:36.

Bradford’s Layne Loper also competed, finishing the race in 35:48.

The Tornadoes’ Koy Hartley and Kayden Lee ran times of 26:28 and 30:25, respectively, in the JV boys race.

In the 144-member middle school girls race, which was 3,000 meters as opposed to 5,000 meters in the JV races, Bradford’s Anna Adkins and Raelynn Alexander placed 57th and 62nd, respectively, with times of 15:09 and 15:18. Tinsley Fortune also ran, finishing with a time of 17:17.

Tucker Griffis was 91st out of 186 in the middle school boys race with a time of 14:05. Andrew Warren and Trevor Bedell had times of 15:06 and 19:19, respectively.
