BHS defeats Ft. White to end regular season

Tatum Burkhalter shared the team highs in kills, digs and service aces in Bradford’s 3-0 win over Fort White to conclude the regular season.

Bradford High School’s volleyball team got 27 assists from Kingslee Phillips and seven kills each from Tatum Burkhalter and Autumn DeKorver in defeating host Fort White 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-4) in the Tornadoes’ regular-season finale.

The Tornadoes, who won their eighth straight match, got 14 digs each from Burkhalter and DeKorver, while Phillips had eight digs. Shelby Cole and Ky’lee Johnson had six and five digs, respectively.

Wynter Barrington led the team in blocks with three, while Burkhalter, Phillips and Lakelyn Sheppard each had two service aces.

Bradford (12-4) will next travel to Jacksonville to play Wolfson in a District 4-3A tournament semifinal match on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m. Wolfson (16-1) is the top seed in the four-team district, while Bradford is the fourth seed.
