Bradford and Union County high schools played in an Aug. 29 girls golf match that also included Branford on Aug. 29 at Lake City’s Quail Heights Country Club, with the Tornadoes’ Kaylee Devore and the Tigers’ Zoe Elixson each shooting a 52 to tie for second.
Branford placed first in the team standings with a score of 218, with Union trailing by 31 strokes.
The Tornadoes didn’t have a full team.
Devore, who made par on one hole, and Elixson were 14 strokes behind medalist Claire Bond of Branford.
Bradford’s Sara Rantz tied for fourth with a score of 57.
The Tigers’ Katelyn Seay, who made par on one hole, tied for seventh with a score of 62. Her teammate (and twin sister) Kerissa Seay shot a ninth-place score of 65.
Union’s Madison Starling, who made par on one hole, also played, finishing with a score of 70.
Bradford hosts Keystone Heights and Branford at the Starke Golf and Country Club on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 3:30 p.m.
The Tornadoes and the Tigers will compete in a Thursday, Sept. 5, match at 3:30 p.m. at Quail Heights Country Club. They’ll then play in a Tuesday, Sept. 10, match at 3:30 p.m. at the Starke Golf and Country Club.
