BHS girls improve to 2-0 with 52-32 win over KHHS

Bradford High School got a game-high 22 points from Ar’Nayshia Griffin in defeating visiting Keystone Heights 52-32 in a girls basketball game on Nov. 28.

The Tornadoes (2-0) led by only three after the first quarter, but eight points from Griffin helped them go into halftime leading 26-18.

Keystone (0-3) got a three-pointer and seven points total in the second quarter from Riley Shuford, but the rest of the team scored four points in falling behind by eight.

Bradford opened the third quarter with a 14-0 run, with Griffin and Jada Hankerson scoring all but one of those points. Hankerson had five straight points on a three-pointer and two free throws to make the score 34-18, while Griffin scored five straight on two field goals and a free throw to make it a 40-18 game.

Hankerson finished with 11 points.

The Tornadoes Ajiyah Jackson scored four points in the fourth quarter, giving her seven total for the game. Bradford also got five points from Khamyra Hankerson, four points from Alysia Rentz, two points from Kayla Evans and one point from Stonay Shine.

Shuford led Keystone with 10 points. The Indians also got six and five points from Yasmin Bryant and Daisey Hubbard, respectively, four points from Alana Anderson, three points from McKinlee Kirkland and two points each from Jaynell Hill and Kadence Massey.

Bradford attempts to improve to 3-0 with a home game against Dunnellon on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. Keystone also plays that night, hosting Middleburg at 7 p.m.

The Tornadoes travel to play Suwannee on Monday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m.

Keystone hosts St. Johns Country Day at 9:30 a.m. to start a tournament on Saturday, Dec. 2. The Indians host Eastside on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m.
