BHS, KHHS begin flag football tourney play on April 20

Keystone’s Alyssa Sanford (left) and Bradford’s Riley Shuford are pictured in a March 12 game. The Indians and the Tornadoes each host a District 4-1A tournament quarterfinal game on Monday, April 20, and could face each other in the semifinals on Tuesday, April 21.

Bradford and Keystone Heights high schools will host quarterfinal games in the District 4-1A flag football tournament on Monday, April 20, at 6 p.m.

The Tornadoes are the number-one seed and will play eighth seed Eastside, while the Indians, who earned the fourth seed, will play fifth seed Hawthorne.

If Bradford wins, it will host the Keystone-Hawthorne winner in a semifinal game on Tuesday, April 21, at 6 p.m.

Should the Tornadoes lose, the Keystone-Hawthorne winner would host Eastside in a 6 p.m. semifinal game on April 21.

The tournament’s other two April 20 quarterfinal games are seventh seed Florida School for the Deaf and Blind at second seed Santa Fe and sixth seed Newberry at third seed Palatka.

Semifinal winners will play for the championship on Thursday, April 23, at 6 p.m., with the highest seeded team hosting.

Bradford is attempting to win its fourth straight district title.
