BHS’ Lawrence, Lopey earn top-5 finishes at Santa Fe meet

Elijah Lawrence and Ny’asia Lopey earned third- and fifth-place finishes, respectively, for Bradford High School in track and field at the April 10 Santa Fe Raiders Last Chance Meet.

Lawrence’s high finish occurred in the 200m with a time of 23.33, while Lopey’s occurred in the triple jump with a distance of 31-5.75.

Bradford also had the following boys results: 100m — Lawrence 11.42, Branden Williams 11.47, Iyen Addison 12.14; 200m — Jarrell Harris 23.87, Addison 25.91; 4x100m (Williams, Harris, Addison, Lawrence) 45.09; long jump — Jaydin Williams 15-10.25; shot put — Parviele Lee 40-0.75, William Aldridge 30-8.25, Raimond Pedro 29-7.5; and discus — Aldridge 109-11.

The Tornadoes entered the meet off performances at the April 8 Suwannee Mini Meet and the April 9 Menendez Falcon Last Chance Meet.

Lee won the shot put at the Suwannee meet with a distance of 41-4.25, while Harris was fourth and sixth in the 200m and 100m, respectively, with times of 23.90 and 11.67.

Also competing in the shot put were Aldridge (33-3) and Pedro (31-2), while Branden Williams (12.41) and Addison (27.79) ran the 100m and 200m, respectively.

At the Menendez meet, Aldridge took second in the discus with a distance of 104-3, while Lee was third in the shot put with a distance of 39-10.5.

Bradford got a pair of sixth-place finishes from Lawrence in the 100m, with a time of 11.33, and Harris in the 200m, with a time of 23.76.

Branden Williams had an eighth-place time of 11.40 in the 100m.

The Tornadoes also had the following results: 100m — Harris 11.51; 200m — Addison 26.09; 800m — Liam Reaves 2:46; 1600m — Reaves 6:08; long jump — Jaydin Williams 16-0.5; and shot put — Aldridge 31-6, Pedro 30-7.
