Bradford High School girls golfer Sarah Rantz was one spot out of earning an automatic regional berth, placing 12th at the District 3-1A tournament on Oct. 29 at Tallahassee’s Capital City Country Club.
The top two individuals not on the first- and second-place teams, which were Maclay and Florida High, earned the right to advance to the regional round. Rantz, who shot an 18-hole score of 110, was the third-highest individual not on one of those teams. Branford’s Claire Bond and Union County’s Zoe Elixson were the two individual regional qualifiers. Rantz was five strokes behind Elixson.
Bradford’s Kaylee Devore placed 15th with a score of 122.
The Tornadoes placed fourth in the boys tournament standings with a score of 355, finishing behind Maclay (321), Florida High (337) and Aucilla Christian (352).
