BHS remains undefeated in flag football

Ar’Nayshia Griffin and the Tornadoes continue to roll in flag football. Bradford is 6-0 and ranked second in the state in Class 1A.

Bradford High School, which was second in the Florida High School Athletic Association/MaxPreps Class 1A power rankings (prior to March 18), is still undefeated in flag football after wins over Florida School for the Deaf and Blind and Eagle’s View Academy.

The Tornadoes (6-0) traveled to play Florida Deaf and Blind on March 5, winning 22-7. Ar’Nayshia Griffin completed 13 of 29 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns.

Nichelle Brown caught both scoring passes and finished with nine receptions for 140 yards.

Kaylee Devore caught two passes for 30 yards.

The defense got one interception each from Brown, Izarriya Desue and Alysia Rentz.

On March 11, Bradford defeated visiting Eagle’s View 26-0 — the Tornadoes’ third shutout.

Brown caught 11 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown on four carries and returned a punt 55 yards for a score.

Griffin completed 14 of 23 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns.

The Tornadoes return to action with a road game against Baker County on Wednesday, March 26, at 6 p.m. Bradford then hosts Keystone Heights on Thursday, March 27, at 7 p.m. before traveling to play Buchholz on Tuesday, April 1, at 5:30 p.m.
