Bradford High School is the fourth seed in the District 5-1A softball tournament and will play fifth seed Hamilton County in a quarterfinal game on Monday, May 2, at Hilliard High School at 6 p.m.

The Tornadoes (14-6) enter the tournament off a 10-4 win over host Bishop Snyder to close out the regular season on April 26.

Takeirra Bakken gave Bradford a 3-0 lead in the top of the third on a home run that scored Hannah McFarland, who walked, and Taylor Reddish, who singled.

Bradford scored two runs with two outs in the fourth to go up 5-1. McFarland hit a triple, while Reddish reached on a bunt single to third. After Reddish stole second, Masey Padgett hit a single to score both runners.

Padgett and Bakken each went 2 for 4 with three RBI. Bakken’s other hit besides her homer was a triple.

Reddish went 3 for 4 with an RBI.

Summer Sutton had an RBI as well.

Starting pitcher Cassidy Spratlin gave up no runs on one hit through two innings. Bakken gave up four runs on six hits through 3.1 innings, while

Kirsten Hodges faced two batters in the sixth, with the second batter hitting a line drive to Bakken at second — the start of an inning-ending double play.

Reddish entered the circle to close it out in the seventh.
