Bradford High School earned the third seed in the District 3-2A softball tournament and will travel to Bishop Snyder to play the second-seed Cardinals in a semifinal game on Monday, April 28, at 6 p.m.
If the Tornadoes (10-10) defeat Bishop Snyder (13-9), they’ll play for the championship on Wednesday, April 30, at 7 p.m. Bradford would either travel to play top seed Baldwin (16-7) or host fourth seed Trinity Chrisian (10-11).
Bradford enters the tournament off an 11-3 loss at Newberry on April 23.
Tayrn Flowers hit a two-out single in the top of the second, advancing to second on a wild pitch before scoring on a Regan Adams double, which left the Tornadoes trailing 3-1.
Newberry answered with five runs in the bottom of the inning and then scored three more in the third.
Amber Wynn, who batted 2 for 3, hit an RBI double as part of a two-run fifth. Keegan Yowell drove in the second run on a ground out.
