Rylie Blankenship and Summer Sutton each drove in three runs for the Bradford High School softball team, which snapped a three-game losing streak with a 15-4 win over host Hawthorne on March 27.
The Tornadoes (3-5) scored six runs in the first inning, with Blankenship, Kirsten Hodges and Kallie Yowell all drawing bases-loaded walks to force three runs in. Addyson Hinds hit an RBI single, while Amber Wynn drove in a run on a sacrifice fly. An error also allowed a run to score.
Blankenship, who went 3 for 4, also had an RBI single and an RBI double in later innings, while Sutton hit a two-run double as part of a three-run sixth.
Wynn finished with two RBI, while Masey Padgett had one.
Takeirra Bakken went 2 for 3.
Starting pitcher Keegan Yowell gave up three runs on three hits through two innings, striking out two.
Blankenship and Kolee Lemire each pitched two innings as well. Lemire gave up one run on not hits, while striking out two. Blankenship gave up no runs and two hits, striking out two.
Bradford hosts Trinity Catholic on Tuesday, March 28, at 6 p.m. and will travel to play Bishop Snyder on Tuesday, April 4, at 6:30 p.m.
