Bradford High School’s tennis teams both defeated visiting West Nassau on Feb. 20.
The girls team, which is 1-4, swept doubles play in defeating the Warriors 5-2. Reagan Harris and Caitlyn Jackson teamed up for an 8-0 win at the number-one spot, while Maya Moss and Victoria Hudgens won 8-6 at number two.
Harris and Jackson each won 8-1 at the number-one and number-two singles spots. Hudgens won 8-5 at the fourth spot.
Moss and Brooke Rodriguez lost 8-4 and 8-2, respectively.
Like the girls team, the Bradford boys swept doubles play in defeating West Nassau 4-3. Calum Butler and Rowan Butler won 8-5 at the number-one spot, while James Hudgens and Nikolas Vargas won 8-2 at number two.
Calum Butler and Rowan Butler won 9-7 and 8-5, respectively, at the number-one and number-two spots in singles play. Vargas and Hudgens lost 8-3 and 8-4, respectively, while Jack Hendrix lost 8-7.
The boys team is now 2-3.
Both teams played Ridgeview on Feb. 22 and will be back in action on Tuesday, March 5, at Baker County at 3:30 p.m.
