BHS, UCHS earn at-large weightlifting bids

At-large bids to the Class 1A boys weightlifting state meet were announced, with Bradford High School having one lifter receive a bid and Union County having two

Bradford’s Jagger Lancaster earned an at-large state bid.

Jagger Lancaster will represent the Tornadoes in the 169-pound class. He will compete in both Olympic and traditional events after his performances at the Region 3 meet, where he was the Olympic and traditional runner-up.

Carsen Thomas and Matthew Rogers received Olympic at-large bids. Thomas, who competes in the 199 class, is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Region 3 meet, while Rogers, who competes in the 219 class, is coming off a runner-up finish.

The state meet will be held Friday, May 8, at 10 a.m. at Lakeland’s R.P. Funding Center.
