BHS wins 9 classes, defeats Eastside in girls weightlifting

Bradford High School won all nine weight classes it had participants in, defeating host Eastside in a Dec. 6 girls weightlifting meet.

The only class the Tornadoes didn’t have a competitor in was the 101-pound class.

Bradford’s winners were Rylie Blankenship with a 160 total (75 bench press, 85 clean and jerk) in the 110 class, Blakeleigh Smith with a 185 total (95, 90) in the 119 class, Kami Crawford with a 150 total (75, 75) in the 129 class, Madison Sapp with a 160 total (85, 75) in the 139 class, Brianna Jordan with a 455 total (250, 205) in the 154 class, Courtney Comer with a 410 total (225, 185) in the 169 class, Gabby Oliver with a 340 total (175, 165) in the 183 class, Takeirra Bakken with a 380 total (175, 205) in the 199 class and Brianna Brooks with a 250 total (125, 125) in the unlimited class.

Three earned second-place finishes: Raelynn Moore with a 150 total (75, 75) in the 110 class, Allie McFarland with a 290 total (150, 140) in the 154 class and Leah Tilton with a 145 total (75, 70) in the 183 class.

Jolie Jones and Sydnee Hires earned third-place finishes in the 154 and unlimited classes, respectively. Jones had a 140 total (65, 75), while Hires had a 200 total (110, 90).

Shyann Alvarez placed fifth in the unlimited class with a 145 total (75, 70).
