Brothers who play football for Bradford Middle School and Bradford High School will get the chance to participate in national-level events after their performances at a recent FBU Top Gun Showcase.
Cy Cubbedge, who’ll be a sophomore and assume the position of starting quarterback for the Tornadoes this season, received an invitation to the Navy National Combine, which will be held in San Antonio, Texas, in January. Held in association with the Navy All-American Bowl, the event, which will feature the top 600 underclassmen in the country, will consist of competitive drills and tests, similar to the NFL Scouting Combine. Participants will get to attend the All-American Bowl.
Raef Cubbedge, who plays linebacker, received an invitation to the Under Armour Next 8th Grade All-America Game, which will be held in DeLand in January. According to the Under Armour Next website, participants will go through a week of “high-level” training with “world-class” coaches at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.
The all-star game will be played at Spec Martin Memorial Stadium.
