Jason Bowden went 1-2 for Keystone Heights High School, which had a total of three competing at the Region 1-1A wrestling finals Feb. 25-26 at Wakulla High School.
Bowden, competing in the 126-pound weight class, started off by getting pinned in 3:22 by Suwannee’s Brody Boehm, but bounced back to pin North Bay Haven’s Tristan Lé in 2:45. He then suffered his second loss in the double-elimination tournament, getting pinned in 3:39 by Fernandina Beach’s Caden Kubatzke.
The Indians’ Alyx Nichols (160 class) and Matthew Delano (220) each went 0-2. Nichols was pinned in 3:46 by Suwannee’s Austin Howard before losing 9-6 to Rocky Bayou Christian’s Jaden Scruggs. Delano was pinned in 47 seconds by Raines’ Jamari Watson and then pinned in 1:48 by Wewahitchka’s James Hardy.
