Bradford 4-H teams show well in livestock judging

The following were members of the first-place junior team and second-place senior team at the Union County event: Regan Broome, Shayna Durrance, Auston McKenzie, Jordan Hamilton, Kate Wainwright, Adaleigh Wainwright, Koy Hartley, Ansley Ward, Kaitlyn McKenzie, Payton McKenzie,
Kierstyn McKenzie, Natalie Thames, Jackson Thames and Bailey Varnes.

Bradford County 4-H livestock-judging participants concluded a successful season, that saw highlights from shows in Alachua, Bradford, Clay, Putnam and Union counties as well as at the state level.

The senior team ranked as the sixth-highest team at the state event, while also earning first- and second-place finishes at the Bradford event and second-place finishes at the Alachua, Putnam and Union events.

Bradford’s intermediate team had a first-place finish at the Clay event and first- and third-place finishes at the Bradford and Putnam events, while the junior team placed first at the Union event.

UF/IFAS Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent Lizzie Whitehead is proud of all the youth and their accomplishments. She’s looking forward to working with them next year.

George Wyatt Folsom was the first-place individual in the intermediate division at the Clay County event.
The senior team that placed sixth at state: Auston McKenzie, Regan Broome, Jordan Hamilton, Payton McKenzie and Coach Lizzie Whitehead.
Placing second in senior livestock judging at the Putnam County event: Coach Lizzie Whitehead, Jordan Hamilton, Regan Broome and Jackson Thames.
First- and third-place interemediate winners at the Putnam County event: Coach Lizzie Whitehead, Natalie Thames, Shayna Durrance and Koy Hartley.
