BROOKER — Brooker Community School is getting all the details in place for a fall opening. In addition to holding a workshop on security resources and a registration and recruitment event, the Board of Directors of the charter school has selected Dr. Felecia F. Moss as principal.
Moss comes with stellar credentials and 37 years’ experience in education. Coming from the small town of Jasper, she has a personal appreciation of the importance of small town education, to both the students and the community at large. Her K-12 experience in education has ranged from founding principal of a private Christian school to “turnaround principal” of some challenging public schools.
Moss is a Gator graduate of UF from bachelor’s degree to doctorate. She loves a challenge and said she is excited to be a part of making Brooker Community School one that other schools will talk about as a shining example. Moss supports project-based learning along with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) instruction.
