Byrnes, Lee place in top 10 for Keystone, Bradford at state meet

Keystone Heights’ Clark Byrnes and Bradford’s Parviele Lee earned top-10 finishes at the May 12-13 Florida Youth Running Association Middle School State Track and Field Championship in Bradenton.

Byrnes placed sixth in the long jump with a distance of 19-1.5, while Lee was 10th in the shot put with a distance of 43-6.75.

Keystone’s Kaylee Park missed out on the top 10 with a 13th-place finish in the 100m hurdles. She posted a time of 16.70.

The Indians’ Ryeland Wahl was 29th in the 800m with a time of 2:17, while Ricardo Rosario was 29th in the shot put with a distance of 33-0. Ryder Thomas was 39th in the 1500m (2:17) and 42nd in the 3000m (10:18).

Keystone’s Olivia Griffin competed in two events, finishing 41st in the 800m (2:38) and 56th in the 1500m (5:34).

The Indians got a pair of top-10 finishes in the elementary school events, with Ezra Byrnes placing sixth in the long jump (13-0.75) and Ryleigh Thomas placing 10th in the 1500m (5:45). Byrnes was also 30th in the 100m (15.84).

Elli Gillim and Sayla Eyster took 17th and 18th, respectively, for Keystone in the long jump with distances of 10-1.25 and 9-9.75. Gillim was also 35th in the 400m (1:17).
