STARKE — As part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s Starke Railroad Overpass Interchange Improvements project, Call Street (State Road 230) between U.S. 301 and St. Clair Street will be closed for resurfacing from 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, to 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16.
Please plan for alternate parking as on-street parking along Call Street will not be available during resurfacing operations. This will primarily affect diners and movie-goers. Parking is available downtown, including the parking lot across from Starke City Hall on Thompson Street, Santa Fe College and First Baptist Church.
Traffic will be detoured during the closure as follows:
—Westbound Call Street traffic will turn left onto Water Street, right onto State Road 100, right onto U.S. 301 and proceed to Call Street.
—Eastbound Call Street traffic will turn right onto southbound U.S. 301, left onto S.R. 100, left onto Water Street and right onto Call Street.
—There will be a single lane closure on Call Street from Water Street to St. Clair Street with flaggers present to direct traffic.
—A large vehicle detour will remain in place for eastbound State Road 100 from U.S. 301 to Water Street. Eastbound S.R. 100 large vehicle traffic will turn right onto southbound U.S. 301, then turn left onto SE 144th Avenue (Hazen Street) and continue onto SE 144th Street to S.R. 100.
In coming weeks, downtown will experience additional lane closures, each lasting two to three weeks, while work is completed on Walnut and Thompson streets and their intersections with Call Street.
—Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 23, traffic on eastbound Call Street, northbound and southbound Thompson Street, and northbound Walnut street will be detoured for two to three weeks.
—After, traffic on westbound Call Street and southbound Thompson and Walnut street will be detoured for two to three weeks.
