GREEN COVE SPRINGS— Clay County Supervisor of Elections Chris Chambless said Christine Thompson has filed to run for Seat 2 of the Keystone Heights City Council.

The seat is currently held by Marion Kelly and the term of office is for three years.

Earlier this month the city council passed a resolution for the election to take place on Tuesday April 12.  In addition to Seat 2, Seat 1, currently held by Tony Brown, will also be on the ballot.

Candidates have until Feb. 4 to qualify.

On a social media page, Thompson calls herself a “proud lifelong conservative who supports the values that have long been held dear in our community.”

She also said she is a passionate supporter of Keystone Heights lakes and is committed to seeing the benefits of the Black Creek Water Resource Development Project realized by residents and future generations.
