A serious car accident in Melrose left one person in critical condition and shut down portions of State Road 26.
The Melrose Fire Department reported a single-vehicle accident in which the driver likely experienced a medical emergency before crashing into a home.
The patient was transported to a trauma center by rescue personnel.
The accident occurred at approximately 10:14 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, in Alachua County.
