Steven Carter placed first for Bradford High School, which defeated visiting Union County in a boys golf match on Sept. 25.
The Tornadoes had a team score of 172 to the Tigers’ 205.
Carter had a birdie and made par on four holes in finishing with a score of 40. Teammates Charlie Zink and Tucker Griffis were second and third, respectively, with scores of 42 and 43. Each had a birdie, with Zink making par on two holes and Griffis making par on three.
Bradford’s Patrick Pendarvis and Mason Stone each shot a 47 to tie for fourth. Pendarvis had a birdie and made par on one hole, while Stone made par on two.
The Tornadoes’ Avery Burgin, who made par on one hole, had a sixth-place score of 48.
Ayden Tomlinson and Gavin Kuhn led the Tigers, tying for seventh with scores of 49. Each made par on one hole.
Union’s Brysen Tomlinson had a ninth-place score of 50, while teammates Emery Muse and Fenix Norman placed 10th and 11th, respectively, with scores of 57 and 69.
The Tigers entered the match off a loss to host Taylor County on Sept. 23.
Union had a team score of 210 to Taylor’s 187.
Kuhn and Ayden Tomlinson tied for third with scores of 46. Each made par on three holes in finishing two strokes behind Taylor’s Wyatt Towles and Grant Turner, who were co-medalists.
Brysen Tomlinson and Muse were eighth and 10th, respectively, with scores of 58 and 60, while Norman had a 14th-place score of 67.
