Caught with drugs, 35 needles

STARKE — Tiffaney Renate-McElroy Butcher, 39, of Ocala was sentenced to 13 months in prison after pleading to possession of drugs and possession of drug equipment in Bradford County.

On April 1 Starke police said they were helping a person gather her belongings from a Temple Avenue motel room when they discovered illegal drug activity had occurred inside the room. After obtaining a search warrant, officers seized 35 empty and used hypodermic needles, seven baggies containing methamphetamine or residue, four loaded syringes containing methamphetamine, 0.3 grams of powder Fentanyl and a digital scale.

After the search, Butcher and co-defendant Nichole L. Stroup were placed under arrest for drug-related charges.

Butcher also faces probation violation charges in Marion County.
