The North Florida Regional Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Hometown Grounds Coffee Company on April 11.

The Stepmother-daughter partnership of Amy Polk and Rachel Sweat opened the business at the corner of Starke’s Thompson and Call Streets on February 1.

Sweat said she fell in love with coffee during mission trips to Honduras, adding that in addition to its taste, she saw the beverage create community among the people of Central America.

The co-owners said they hope their new business will help create stronger bonds among the people in Bradford County and the surrounding area.
