Jude Hanson scored 31 points as part of a double-double, while the Hope Christian Academy boys basketball team also got 25 points from Marcus Chever in a 77-36 win over visiting Old Plank Christian on Dec. 20.
Hanson also grabbed 11 rebounds as the Lions (7-1) bounced back from their first loss of the season. Chever added seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Like Hanson, Dalton Thomas also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Aiden Wilson scored five points, while Julio Casielles, Tavian Frazier and Zach Hansen added two points each. Frazier and Wilson also grabbed eight rebounds each, with Wilson also adding four assists to his totals.
Traven Chandler had three steals.
Hope’s junior varsity boys team also came out on top of Old Plan, winning 37-24 to improve to 7-0.
The varsity Lions travel to High Springs to play First Christian on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 6 p.m. They host Byne Christian on Friday, Jan. 6, at 7 p.m. and Corinth Christian Academy on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 7:30 p.m.
Hope’s JV team plays at 5 p.m. prior to the Jan. 3 First Christian and Jan. 6 Byne Christian games and at 4:30 p.m. prior to the Jan. 10 Corinth Christian game.
The Lions’ varsity girls team lost 35-10 to Old Plank and will play between the JV boys and varsity boys games against Byne Christian at 6 p.m. on Jan. 6 and Corinth Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 10.
