LAKE BUTLER — The Union County Public Library abounded with Christmas events this holiday season.
At the bi-monthly Senior Social program on Dec 6, folks enjoyed a Christmas party complete with renowned chef, Warren Caterson. “Chef Warren” showed participants how to create simple, yet elegant Christmas desserts while regaling them with fun personal stories.
Next up, Santa Claus made a special visit to the library’s Storytime program on Dec 8. In addition to Christmas stories and songs, the children enjoyed a fun Christmas craft and goodies provided by the Union County Friends of the Library. Santa and his elf helper, Renee Crews passed out stockings filled with toys and candy.
On Dec 10, many families in the community came out for the library’s annual Christmas Bingo where lots of fun prize bundles were awarded! This fun event is hosted each year by the teen volunteer organization, the Junior Friends of the Library. Immediately following the Bingo program, the teens held their own Christmas party complete with pizza, soda, dessert and presents!
Finally, to round off the Christmas season, a special Christmas craft was set up for the monthly adult program where everyone made beautiful poinsettia wreaths.
There’s something for everyone at the library. Follow their Facebook page to keep up with library happenings.
