Madison Street Baptist Church held a note-burning ceremony at the conclusion of its November 23 service, marking the settlement of the debt it incurred in 2005 during construction of its Family Life Center.

Associate Pastor of Music and Administration Charles Warren, who has served the congregation since 1997, lit the document after summarizing its contents and restating the church’s thankfulness to God for the milestone.

Senior Pastor Richard Cason said he had participated in several similar note-burnings in the past while holding a bucket for the occasion.
