KEYSTONE HEIGHTS—Clay Electric Cooperative said its power supplier has unveiled a new 1,100-megawatt natural gas generating station in Putnam County.
“This state-of-the-art facility is one of the most efficient natural gas combined facilities in the world, paving the way for cleaner and more cost-effective energy solutions,” Clay Electric said.
The utility added that the new generating station, owned and operated by Seminole Electric Cooperative, can supply power to 1.1 million homes with an expected 40% reduction in air emissions, a 34% decrease in CO2 emissions, and a 27% boost in electricity generation.
