GREEN COVE SPRINGS— The Florida Department of Education has named the Clay County School District as one of 16 academically high-performing school districts in Florida.

The designation was based on school and district grades, class size compliance and financial performance.

Superintendent David Broskie told the school board during an Oct. 26 workshop that the board deserves credit for the award.

“I think it is a reflection of this group,” he told board members of the designation, “when you are talking about some of the decisions that you make.”

The other districts named as Academically High-Performing School Districts for the 2020-2021 school year were Brevard, Collier, Gilchrist, Lafayette, Liberty, Martin, Monroe, Okaloosa, Palm Beach, Santa Rosa, St. Johns, Seminole, Sumter, Wakulla and Walton.
