The Community Redevelopment Agency voted unanimously Monday to add the Geneva Jungle Playground restoration to its approved project list, with work expected to begin after Oct. 1.
The board placed a $66,000 placeholder in the fiscal 2026-27 capital improvement schedule, delaying a $150,000 parking project and Phase 2 of the trailhead project by one year each. City Manager James Booth called the estimate preliminary.
A June assessment by Leathers & Associates, which facilitated the original 1997 community build, found the playground’s safety surfacing needs immediate attention. Resident Jade Wolfe told the board 52 volunteers have already signed up to help.
