To the Voting Citizens of Bradford County,
Hello, my name is Larry Davis and I would like to take this time to publicly announce my candidacy as your Republican candidate for Bradford County commissioner, District 2.
I was born in Hazelhurst, Georgia, and moved to Bradford County as a young child, where I have remained a lifelong resident with my devoted wife of 32 years, Marcia Davis. We have one daughter, Lizabeth (Levi) Lee, and two grand-children, Emersyn and Maverick Lee.
As a young adult, I began working for the Bradford County Road Department, where I was employed for over 10 years prior to beginning my own business. As a small business owner of 18 years, and a former city commissioner of Starke, I understand the true value and importance of financial sustainability, operational excellence and economic growth.
The Board of County Commissioners mission statement is to “protect the health, safety and welfare of and to positively impact the lives of the citizens of our community through the provision of high-quality, cost-effective local government services.” In recent events of the increased tax assessments, increased budgets and wasteful spending over the last several years; it goes without saying that the current leadership of our county does not have the best interest of the citizens at heart.
My plan if elected to serve on the Board of Bradford County Commissioners is to bring this mission statement back to life and bring forth financial sustainability, operational excellence and economic growth.
I look forward to speaking with each of you and hearing your concerns; if elected to represent District 2 on the Bradford County Board of Commissioners, I pledge to be the voice and bring forth the concerns of the Bradford County District 2 citizens.
