Desue and Lawrence earn wins for BMS at invitational

Isarriya Desue and Elijah Lawrence each won an event for Bradford Middle School, which earned a total of six first- and second-place finishes at the April 4 Providence Stallion Track and Field Invitational in Jacksonville.

Desue had a win and a runner-up finish for the girls team. Her time of 13.94 topped the 100m field, while her time of 29.45 was good for second in the 200m

The 4x100m relay also featured Desue, who teamed up with Alecee Carroll, Raevin Jamison and Jordyn Littles to run a second-place time of 56.54.

Bradford’s girls team also had fourth- and fifth-place finishers in the 100m, with Kendall Shanks running 14.44 and Littles running 14.56.

Autumn Hunt was fourth in the 400m (1:19), while Anna Adkins was fourth in the 1600m (7:21).

Littles’ day also consisted of an eighth-place finish in the 200m (31.65).

Gabrielle Hinds earned an eighth-place finish the 100m hurdles (22.77) and a ninth-place finish in the 400m (1:24).

Adkins had a ninth-place finish in the 800m (3:28).

The girls team also had the following results: 100m ­— Jamison 16.57, Carroll 17.12; 200m — Jamison 35.16, Hunt 36.89, Carroll 37.50; and 800m — Hinds 3:32.

For the boys team, Lawrence won the 200m with a time of 27.25. He teamed up with Aldan Sanchez, Gino Addison and Bryson Hill to win the 4x100m relay with a time of 51.83.

Addison took second in the 100m (13.56), while Axel Markwich was third in the 1600m (5:31).

Sanchez and Iyen Addison placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 100m with times of 13.67 and 14.13, while Gino Addison and Hill were fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 200m with times of 29.06 and 29.20.

Iyen Addison was eighth in the 200m (29.26), while Sanchez was ninth in the 400m (1:07).

Other boys team results were: 100m — Hill 14.94, Caiden Carn 16.10; 200m — Carn 32.14; 400m — Tucker Griffis 1:15, John Rosson 1:41; 800m — Andrew Warren 3:30; and 1600m — Warren 7:40.

 

Bradford High girls earn 3 top-6 finishes

In the high school portion of the Providence Invitational, Bradford was runner-up in the girls distance medley relay with a time of 18:14. The team consisted of Alissa Reddish, Layne Loper, Lindsey McCoy and Jillian Lee.

The girls 4x100m relay team of Diamond Ferguson, Alyssa Hunt, Holly Holt and Kaelyn Booker placed sxith with a time of 58.10. Natalie Thomas earned an individual sixth-place finish, running the 1600m in 6:46.

 Ferguson also competed in the 100m, finishing with a time of 14.36.

Jamarian Cummings earned an eighth-place finish for the boys team, running the 400m in 55.29.

Ne-O Addison ran the 100m in 12.82, while Jordan Barton and Silas Markwich had times of 6:00 and 6:22, respectively, in the 1600m.
