The Bradford County Education Foundation’s annual Leave a Legacy event will honor Margaret DeSue, Anne Miller and John Miller for the impact they’ve had on Bradford County students on Thursday, Aug. 24, at Madison Street Baptist Church at 6 p.m.

Tickets, which can be purchased at Capital City Bank or from any Bradford County Education Foundation board member, are $30 and include dinner.

A dessert dash will be part of the event. People at each table will pool their funds, with the largest amount getting the first chance to choose from the available desserts. The second-largest bid gets the second choice, etc. Tables will be announced in five-second increments, with a designated “dessert dasher” from each table dashing to select a dessert.

Leave a Legacy is a fundraiser for the Bradford County Education Foundation a nonprofit organization that was established in 1990 by citizens to support the county’s schools.

The foundation hosts the district spelling bee every year, providing T-shirts, gift bags, trophies and teacher sponsor gifts, as well as paying for all of the schools’ registration fees and the cost for the winner and his or her parents to attend the state competition. BCEF also hosts the Welcome Back Breakfast for school staff each August, which includes gift bags with supplies for teachers and gift cards for staff, and the Teacher of the Year/School-Related Employee of the Year Appreciation Banquet, which includes dinner, cash gifts and all of the recipients’ awards.
