Easley leads BHS at Don Hall meet with 4th-place finish

Bradford High School’s Jaleel Easley earned a fourth-place finish at the Don Hall Invitational, which was held April 6 at Orange Park High School.

Easley ran the 400m in 53.10 to give the boys team one of its four top-10 finishes. The 4x100m relay team of Branden Williams, Ne-O Addison, Michael Oliver and Jeremiah McKenzie was fifth with a time of 46.50, while the 4x800m team of Chayten Sanders, Hayden Starling, Jordan Barton and Krystian Harris was sixth with a time of 10:09. Jacob Ferguson placed seventh in the shot put with a distance of 37-10.5.

 Nathaniel Raymond just missed a top10 finish in the shot put, placing 11th with a distance of 35-3.75.

Other boys results: 100m — Williams 11.96, Addison 12.04, Oliver 12.15; 200m — Oliver 24.43, Marcus Hewitt 24.60, Easley 24.86; 400m — Elijah Lawrence 1:17; 800m — Barton 2:22, Harris 2:34, Starling 2:50; long jump — McKenzie 18-7.25, Brian Cliffin 15-9.5; discus — Ferguson 98-8, Raymond 97-9, Cayden Carter 84-7; and shot put — Carter 30-9.25, Cliffin 28-0.25.

The girls team got a ninth-place finish in the 4x100m relay, with Diamond Ferguson, Kaelyn Booker, Kendell Shanks and Holly Holt teaming up to run 53.39.

Other girls results: 100m — Booker 13.57, Shanks 13.88, Ferguson 13.91; 200m — Shanks 29.39, Booker 32.94; 400m — Booker 1:07, Holt 1:13; and 800m — Layne Loper 4:00.

Prior to the invitational, Bradford competed in a meet at Santa Fe High School on April 4, with the girls earning a fifth-place finish in the 4x100m relay. Ferguson, Shanks, Booker and Izarriya DeSue teamed up to run 52.58.

Booker earned eighth place in the 400m with a time of 1:05.

Other girls results: 100m — Booker 13.38, DeSue 13.92, Shanks 13.95, Ferguson 13.99; 400m — Holt 1:12, Kaiya Booker 1:15; 800m — Loper 3:54; and shot put — Loper 18-4.5.

The boys team got a pair of top-10 finishes in the shot put, with Raymond placing seventh (38-0.75) and Ferguson placing ninth (36-9.5).

Williams, Addison, Lawrence and Oliver ran an eighth-place time of 45.57 in the 4x100m, while Easley placed ninth in the 400m (53.15).
